SINA at the Technology Centre: a focus on special bridge inspections
28 May 2026On 17 June, the Veronafiere Congress Centre will host the 14th European Conference on Non-Destructive Testing – ECNDT 2026. As part of the event, the MASTER Association (Materials and Structures, Testing and Research) has organised a workshop dedicated to civil engineering. The session will focus on the evolution of monitoring systems and operational procedures to ensure the safety and durability of infrastructure.
SINA has been invited to share its technical expertise in the field of bridge monitoring.
During the ‘Monitoring 2’ session, scheduled from 14:30 to 17:00, Mr Filippo Ferrari will deliver a presentation focusing on special inspections of post-tensioning cables, exploring:
- the application of the recent Bridge Guidelines
- implementation criteria for advanced inspections
- validation of the integrity of prestressing systems through real-world case studies
The presentation will analyse the criteria for carrying out the advanced inspections required by the new regulatory framework, examining in detail the investigation strategies needed to validate the integrity of prestressing systems. By comparing different testing techniques and analysing data from case studies, the presentation will outline the decision-making processes that enable a transition from the collection of technical data to an objective assessment of the structure’s condition.
The meeting provides an opportunity for professionals in the sector to exchange views. The aim is to offer practical tools for the correct application of regulatory protocols and the effective management of infrastructure risk.
