SINA at the 18th European Road Safety Conference
13 March 2026SINA has reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructure safety and resilience on the international stage by participating in the 18th European Road Safety Conference (Chambéry, 9 March 2026), organised by ASECAP (European Toll Road Association) and hosted by ASFA, the French motorway association.
Roberto Arditi, SINA’s scientific director, took part as moderator of the prestigious institutional session. This discussion session, entitled ‘Infrastructure resilience in the face of catastrophic weather events to improve road safety’, provided a crucial opportunity to discuss one of the sector’s most pressing challenges. The session featured contributions from experts at prestigious international institutions from Greece, France, Canada, Portugal, the United States and Kazakhstan.
The meeting took place at a time when the challenges facing road networks are becoming increasingly complex, systemic and urgent. The discussion highlighted how technologies and adaptation policies are now essential to ensure that roads can guarantee safety, withstanding weather events that were once considered extreme but are now becoming increasingly frequent.
Our thanks go to ASECAP, PIARC and all the speakers for this valuable international exchange, which helps to underpin a fundamental pillar of modern design and road safety aimed at ensuring the safety of road users.
